W Foundation

Mission Statement

The W foundation is unique because we see a need that is largely ignored and that is to help those people that have fallen between the social net such as having had a emergency and death that negatively impacts them and their family. Here in Canada we are lucky that we have a strong social system that helps but in the developing world this network does not exist and individuals usually have to fend for themselves or have to sacrifice everything making it difficult to recover. Take an example of a women in any African country that loses a spouse, usually means that the women is a pariah with her family as she is a widow and the children would have to leave school to support the family.

We will identify these people and help them through the difficult time advising them, encouraging vocational training so they can support themselves and short-term financial help so they can lift themselves out of this event.

If you wish to help us financially or intellectually, it would be appreciated.
